Introduction

Johannesburg Financial Securities (Pty) Ltd (JFS Group) was established in 1991 and is a reputable developer of stands for the “gap” housing market. It has completed numerous developments in various sectors including group housing projects, high-density student accommodation, sectional title projects, industrial & affordable housing townships and RDP projects.

JFS Group focuses on the development (planning, rezoning and servicing) of residential townships primarily for the affordable housing market. The stands developed are sold or allocated to external top-structure developers (often smaller, emerging construction companies) who sell and construct their own housing packages. The group’s housing company, Homes For All (HFA), develops, markets, and sells housing packages on stands developed by the group.

JFS Group appoints specialist consultants within the technical, financial and legal fields for every project. These consultants all have extensive experience working in the property development sector and include Town Planners, Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Traffic Engineers, Structural Engineers, Environmentalists, Geologists, Land Surveyors, Conveyancers, and more. In addition, Homes For All commissions marketing agencies, both emerging and established, to sell their housing packages and employ local and established builders to construct the houses.

JFS Group operates from The Ferns Office Park, Pretoria Avenue, Ferndale, Randburg. The majority of the group’s developments are located in Gauteng but have been involved in projects, either current or complete, in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Cape Town. The group appreciates the diversity of cultures within the different project communities and strives to understand and work together with local communities for a mutually beneficial relationship.

Experience

The company has a wealth of experience in development in many diverse conditions – and in numerous municipal areas. This exposure has resulted in the group being well-versed in most legislation and local authority regulations pertaining to property. It also enables the company to anticipate most of the possible problem areas in development and to manage the situations with minimum delay and expense to the individual project.

Andrew Hofmeyr - BCom.(Hons)

Having served as a merchant banker for a span of 13 years, until 1982, Andrew transitioned into the role of a property developer and has been actively engaged in this capacity ever since. His expertise includes establishing, planning, and legal proclamation of various townships, encompassing commercial, industrial, and residential zones. This diverse portfolio spans traditional suburbs as well as affordable townships. His involvement extends to establishing and selling share block companies and sectional title flats.

He has also undertaken projects involving the acquisition and development of apartment complexes and townhouse units strategically transforming them into sectional title properties for resale to individual buyers. Andrew effectively manages the allocation of stands and provides valuable support to external top-structure developers.

In addition, Andrew coordinates all financial aspects of the group, ensuring long-term viability and profitability.

Peter Hofmeyr - BSc Eng. (Civil), MBA (Wits)
Peter has experience in overseeing the construction management of a wide spectrum of projects, including civil engineering endeavours and high-rise building developments. His expertise extends to the meticulous project management of both industrial and commercial building initiatives. One of his key strengths lies in orchestrating the intricate coordination and project management of multidisciplinary teams of professionals tasked with designing and implementing various service installations. His adeptness in these areas reflects a proven track record of delivering complex projects with precision and efficiency.

Jannie Oberholzer - B Comm (Accts)

Having gained experience within a formal commercial banking enterprise, Jannie is entrusted with the oversight of the financial and accounting department within the group, leading a team of experienced project accountants responsible for the comprehensive financial management of all projects, including joint ventures.

Our Areas

The group’s housing company has been packaging and managing the sale of houses in the affordable market for the past 30 years. Homes For All (HFA) managed the sale and construction of some 3,000 houses in Cosmo City during the years of 2008 to 2010. The staff is well-experienced and utilises a purpose-built database to assist with the management of housing projects.
